History of Tantaquidgeon Office Supply
Tantaquidgeon Office Supply is owned and operated by Joan Quidgeon Akin.
Joan is the daughter of Ernest P. Quidgeon and granddaughter of Burrill
Quidgeon. Burrill was the brother of Medicine Woman Gladys Tantaquidgeon
and Chief Harold Tantaquidgeon of the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut.
In the early 1900s, Burrill Quidgeon left Uncasville CT and moved to Johnsonville
NY. Called Earl by those he knew, he settled there with his wife and raised
12 children.
Joan Quidgeon was born in 1959 to Ernest P. Quidgeon son of Earl Quidgeon.
She was an only child.
Joan Quidgeon married Kurt Akin of Melrose NY in 1978. They have three
children, Melissa, Stacy and Benjamin, and four grandchildren, Makayla, Madison, Mya and Aubrey. Joan founded Tantaquidgeon Office Supply
in 2005.
